Meet The Team
Karen Shelton
Karen Shelton is a wife, mother, daughter and grandmother with her husband of 15 years. She is a Detroit native with her primary education from the Detroit Public School system. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University.
Karen’s professional career is over 18 years in commercial real estate property management through Michigan and Ohio.
Karen loves the spirit of people and firmly believes we all hold the power to Do Better to Be Better. That is why she is a committed to the S.T.Y.L.E. team to help young girls see their potential to Do Better to Be Better!
Aris Livingston
Aris Livingston, MSF, MBA. Aris is a Finance professional who has worked with Fortune 50 companies such as Comcast/NBC and Kroger Co. Aris holds a MBA, a Master’s degree in finance, a Master’s degree in psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in music education. As an active member of Christian clergy, Aris supports her church as an executive secretary to the Board of Church Presbyters, is part of the music ministry teaching children voice/violin or lending her talents to the praise team and tutors local at-risk populations. With a commitment to helping small businesses and non-profits, Aris uses her knowledge, resources and know how to support burgeoning non-profits, startup businesses and other small businesses. As a member of Sisters Teaching Young Ladies Excellence, she has served as treasurer, ensuring fiscal responsibility of the organization.

In her spare time Aris loves to spend time with her daughter and husband, travel, and study foreign language and culture.
Monifa Henry
I’m Monifa Henry, STYLE prior President and current Executive Board Member. My career is Project Management in Automotive and Health sectors. I love being a STYLE Mentor and contributor to our young ladies. The creative activities we perform with the young ladies are phenomenal to their growth and development. I enjoy sharing information with others regarding life choices, like educational and scholarship opportunities, insurance options, money saving techniques.
Rita Barksdale
I have retired after 33 years as an education professional with 18 years of classroom teaching experience and 15 years’ experience as a District-level Mathematics Instructional Specialist; I have taught mathematics to students in grades from 3rd – 12th. I believe that teachers who love teaching will develop students who love learning.
After 37 years of marriage, I am the mother of 3 sons, mother-in-law to two, and grandmother of four. Myself, my husband and all 3 sons are alumni of the legendary Cass Technical High School and we possess degrees form a variety of universities: WSU, LSU, MSU, UDM and UB*.

I am a God-fearing woman whose aim is to live my life as an example of Christianity, and as God has commissioned us to love and assist our fellow man, woman and child. My hobbies include: traveling (especially cruising), shopping, music, concerts, movies, plays/shows, and helping youth and adults gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of mathematics.

Amina Allen

Amina Allen is a dynamic educational leader dedicated to equity and innovation in schools. With a Doctorate in Educational Studies from the University of Michigan, Amina’s work centers on creating inclusive environments where students and teachers thrive. As Assistant Principal at Pathways To Success, she has spearheaded initiatives like redesigning remote learning and establishing a Critical Friends Group to support teacher collaboration.
Amina’s previous roles include leading freshmen transition programs at Skyline High School, where she successfully reduced course failures and increased Advanced Placement access for underrepresented students. Her commitment extends beyond the school walls—she has served as an instructional coach with Teach For America and co-authored research on educational practices.
A passionate community leader, Amina co-chaired Sisters Teaching Young Ladies Excellence (STYLE) and contributed to Inspiring Our Sons (IOS). Her certifications in Critical Friends Group Coaching and Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines underscore her commitment to creating safe and supportive learning environments. Through her work, Amina Allen continues to inspire positive change in education.
Tia Marie Sanders
Tiamarie Sanders, is a passionate community advocate and educator based in Michigan. Born and raised in the vibrant state of Michigan. Tiamarie developed a deep-rooted commitment to eradicate Anti-Black racism in Michigan and empower Foundational Black Americans to advocate to dismantle systems of injustice.
Tracey Stevenson

Tracey Stevenson currently serves in the capacity of Founder and President of S.T.Y.L.E. She is a product of Detroit Public Schools as she is a graduate of Renaissance High School. She has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University, a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Siena Heights University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Madonna University. She currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Tracey is a mother, grandmother, and wife. She is truly passionate about S.T.Y.L.E., and pouring into the lives of young people. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and attending concerts.
Sandra Glass
Lady Sandra Glass is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, a woman of purpose, passion, and power. As a wife, mother, entrepreneur, mentor, and Pastor’s wife, she is truly passionate about people and building up the kingdom of God. Her passion is to lead women closer to the heart of God, help them embrace and realize their value and purpose, and bring out the best in them. She strives to inspire all of God’s people to live radically and intentionally for Christ and use their gifts and talents for the Kingdom. She is married to Pastor Lawrence C. Glass Jr., Lead Pastor of the El Bethel Church in Redford, Michigan, where she wholeheartedly supports him in his passion and the vision the Lord has given him.
Professionally, Sandra is a retired Professor at the Defense Acquisition University. She contributed approximately 30 years of combined dedicated service to the United States Army, Department of the Army and the Department of Defense, where she served in various positions and in various leadership capacities. She serves her community, teaching and coaching parishioners and veterans. She sits on various community-based organizations for community improvement and to assist in transitional housing, utilizing her real estate credentials to help those less fortunate. She is also, a certified Life Coach, with the John Maxwell Group.
As a scholar, Lady Sandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management (BSM), and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Lawrence Technological University (LTU), with a focus in Leadership. as well as completing post-graduate graduate work in a Master of science in Mental Health Counseling.
